"Up to Speed with LEED 2009: Understand the Changes to the LEED Rating Systems"

 

Kyle Abney, CGC, LEED AP, is President of the US Green Building Council's South Florida Chapter.  A LEED Accredited Professional and a state-licensed general contractor, Abney is the Principal of Abney + Abney Green Solutions, a full-service commercial and residential green building consulting firm.  A 1999 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Architectural Design, Abney became the first person in the United States to receive a formal construction degree in green building when he earned his Masters Degree in Building Construction with a concentration in Sustainable Construction in 2001 from the Rinker School at UF.  Abney represents the Chapter in South Florida and throughout the green building industry as the organization's chief ambassador and spokesperson, and presides over all Chapter affairs and Directors meetings.  Prior to becoming President, he was Vice-President of the organization and served in a number of other leadership positions.
