incorporating, site location, human scale, and natural elements such
as, weather patterns, and local materials into the design of
buildings, projects work with available resources, in addition to
being in rhythm with the natural patterns of nature.
In understanding, the needs of a building, and integrating these
elements, in such a way, that cohesively work together, have proven
to be successful models that ebb and flow with the culture and
seasons of a region.
Creating landscapes, that correspond to site specific project
locations, as well as with the local flora and fauna create natural
habitats for building inhabitants, while encouraging native species
to flourish. |

Nancy Astrid Lindo,
principal of Astrid Design Studio, is an Interior Designer,
Green Consultant and Permaculturist. Having been trained as
a designer and certified in Green Building, Nancy has had
the ability to use her expertise in a wide range of
disciplines. Currently, she is working on a reference guide,
for the Interior Design industry and publishing articles on
sustainability, in addition to, educating on the importance
of sustainability. Nancy participated in the second annual
Social Entrepreneurship Panel at Pepperdine University in
Malibu. Most recently, she spoke about Green Building at
NYU/Poly in Brooklyn and moderated the Green Building panel
at Go Green Expo in Los Angeles. |
