“Existing Buildings: Sustainable Operations & Maintenance”
As new construction in South Florida has slowed, more attention is being focused on the renovation and repositioning of existing buildings in the marketplace.  LEED for existing buildings combined with sustainable operations & maintenance plans offer an opportunity for owners and property managers to create high performance buildings which have a direct impact on the bottom line.
Paul Zamek, LEED AP O+M, joined Kirksey Architecture in 2008 to launch Kirksey Miami, a full service architecture and consulting firm.  With offices in Miami and Houston, Kirksey specializes in architecture, interior design, master planning and sustainable design.  Kirksey currently has 27+ million square feet of LEED certified projects. Paul leads the Miami office’s EcoServices department, which focuses on creating spaces that are more efficient, less expensive to maintain, more marketable and more productive than industry norms.  Under Paul’s management, Kirksey is currently providing LEED for Existing Building services for the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.
