"Achieving Sustainable AND Affordable Residential Living"

The majority of the presentation deals with case studies of affordable single- and multi-family LEED for Homes candidates.  Each case study will touch on background information, the LEED checklist, and techniques used to achieve certification.  In addition, realizations and lessons learned from these case studies will be discussed in order for future project teams to better understand the uniqueness of a sustainable, affordable project.  The focus of the presentation will shift specifically toward Florida and discuss the different green funding opportunities within the state.

  J. Stace McGee, LEED AP+Homes is currently the West Regional Council Chair for the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and Principal of Environmental Dynamics, Inc.  His current passion is to align the USGBC and NAHB together to transform the residential market place for a more sustainable future. As a consultant to the LEED for Homes Department of the USGBC, Stace is helping to train LEED for Homes Advocates from each chapter to work with their local Home Builders Associations. Together these entities will form local Residential Green Building Committees intended to support growth in green home building.
